June bug...shot behind the moon

**side flash used and diffused

the rest was painstakingly acquired .....from trying to block as much wind as possible to keep it in focus ....as well as constantly moving the tripod fractions at a time....as id manage to get a couple shots off before the moon moved and i had to recompose

the rest was given to the patience of my model and the time spent with it :giggle:

no post editting..just resized and bordered

comments and Criticism always appreciated

Excellent shot, well worth the time and effort in getting it :)

I personally would have desaturated, I think the blue line takes away from it a little bit.

Wow, what a masterful piece! Your patience in waiting for the perfect imposition of the bug on the moon was well justified. I especially like how the moonlight shone through the dew (?) and gave them a translucent effect, which is really important with water droplets. Anyway, I think this is a pretty kickass photo, but if you could have stopped down a bit then maybe you could have shown the moon more clearly - the presence of the Man in the Moon is quite important. Then again, with the wind and everything the line and droplets and bug would probably have been blurred.

Wonderful shot. You must have had plenty of patience to shoot this with 100 ISO.

hehe ya..the whole thing was a test of patience thats for sure
...but with the flash off to the side... it allowed me to keep it at iso 100 and i just metered off the moon
and adjusted the material over the flash a bti to get the proper exposure i was seeking

so ya...moving a tripod in increments....omg...now that was a pain ;)

*** but i try to always keep it at 100 if i can ..as much as its a d2x....im still not a fan of digital noise
**i miss the sweet grain of film ...but what can ya do

so i do the best i can when i can
and adjust accordingly to the situation when needed

thanks for the comment though bud..glad ya liked it :)
